Reporting to the Corporate Controller, your tasks may include:

  • Preparing adjusting and closing journal entries (month-end, quarter-end, ad hoc)
  • Prepare quarter-end analyses for prepaids, accrued liabilities, revenue, and COGS
  • Review invoices posted to accounts payable as part of the procure-to-pay process to ensure accurate and timely posting (on-going, trying to move to batch processing)
  • Review payroll file before processing and prepare sign-off analysis (bi-weekly; currently for CAD & US employees)
  • Prepare accounts payable releases (bi-weekly)
  • Review and assist with preparation of bank reconciliations (monthly)
  • Assist with finance and accounting related tasks for small subsidiary for month and quarter-end (i.e. job order costing, external invoicing, internal chargebacks)
  • Provide support for key business initiatives such as ICFR and ERP implementation
  • Provide support for annual audit and preparation of year-end audit working papers
  • Analytical review of the reconciliation of certain balance sheet accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Assist Director of Corporate Finance with certain accounting analysis, including preparation of white papers for review
  • Assist Director of Corporate Finance with certain aspects of due diligence on future acquisitions
  • Assist Director of Financial Reporting with completion of complex journal entries such as derivatives, share-based compensation, fair value of investments and impairment analysis, including IFRS research as necessary
  • Assist Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with ad hoc reporting
  • Oversee the corporate equity process including accounting and the administration of the Company’s RSU and Option Plan and its outstanding warrants

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline.
  • CPA designation is required
  • At least 4 years of working experience in a related field
  • Experience with IFRS and ICFR
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to travel
