Peter Gundy is an experienced operations executive. From masterminding market-defining start-ups, to designing effective corporate governance, he adds a unique depth of insight to the Canna Royalty Board. Mr. Gundy first rose to prominence as Executive Vice President, Finance at the newly launched Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan. There he was one of three senior executives leading an enterprise that’s now one of the world’s largest providers of agricultural fertilizer. He went on to launch Neo Materials Technologies (NEM) — an advanced rare earth materials firm operating in China and South East Asia. As CEO, he built NEM into the world’s #1 supplier of advanced rare earth materials vital to the electronics industry. Currently Gundy owns and operates Veritprop Limited in historic, downtown Toronto with Mary S. Aitken. The business features a private women’s club, celebrated restaurant, spa and boutique hotel. Peter Gundy is a certified Director of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and has made vital contributions to several boards. One key to the success of his world-spanning ventures? Gundy cites the Canadian talent for working with regulators — a critical skill in the newly-to-be regulated cannabis industry. “Ultimately,” he says “the people who succeed in this business, will be the people who understand the regulatory space and adapt to it in the most effective way.”
